WHY this blog?

Inspire kids to become scientists by saying that…..

I wonder if scientific speculations on COSMOS, LIFE and CONSCIOUSNESS can be a form of mass entertainment. After all, spending an entire life asking no existential question is like enjoying a picnic blindfolded. Isn’t life a picnic in space?

“The world is so exquisite with so much love and moral depth, that there is no reason to deceive ourselves with pretty stories for which there’s little good evidence. Far better it seems to me, in our vulnerability, is to look death in the eye and to be grateful every day for the brief but magnificent opportunity that life provides.”

-Carl Sagan

In Indian philosophy, simple living demands high thinking. Childish consumerism and thereby global warming might spontaneously and efficiently get bridled if, and only if, scientific speculations on cosmos, life and consciousness can at least be a classical, if not mainstream, mass entertainment.

“I’ll lick life to the lees. I’ve identified ‘life’ with ‘the best possible memetic  explanation of existence’ at this stage of scientific knowledge.”

-NABA KUMAR GARAI

(Still infected with the memes of understanding!)

“Suffering arises from craving; the only way to be fully liberated from suffering is to be fully liberated from craving; and the only way to be liberated from craving is to train the mind to experience reality as it is.”
-Yuval Noah Harari, ‘Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind’

Even when practically inescapable, we can at least philosophically try to  enjoy life’s existential contingency and absurdity. Again a practical approach!

“I secretly think reality exists so we can speculate about it.”

-Slavoj Zizek

“A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.”

― Charles Darwin

“Until we have firm understanding of the flow of time, or incontrovertible evidence that it is indeed an illusion, then we will not know who we are, or what part we are playing in the great cosmic drama.”

-Paul Davies

Happiness ( yes, meaningful one)  blesses us only when we see life in its entirety as an anthropically  worthwhile adventure. People who identify happiness with fleeting pleasant sensations stay lifelong slaves to those biochemical algorithms.

…………………………………………

Blind chemomechanical  algorithms can tangle themselves into incredible stuff  like  life,  organs, plants, people, etc.

“The more existential knowledge we have, the deeper we live.”
……………………………………..
A fish in the pond should live both horizontally and vertically to attain maximum experience. To live maximally, man needs both horizontal (social bonding) and vertical (existential knowledge) experience.

I’ll be honored to have you as a regular visitor of my site – a blog to enjoy the cutting edge ansatzes at the frontiers of modern science, philosophy, economics, politics and many more. The blog aims to be an intellectual therapy for an individual’s decisive part.It is a crazy attempt to weave the tangled data from apparently alienated disciplines to make sense of the way things are.

Just google “pamper science memes”  or

Bookmark this site to stay existentially updated (Oh, yes! in conformity with empirically scientific theories)

“Almost nothing material is needed for a happy life, for he who has understood existence.”

– Marcus Aurelius

“Not why the world and life exist, is  alarmingly arousing, but that both exist at all instead of nothingness. Isn’t it crazy to take them for granted?”

-Meme Updater

“The simplest meaning of life, then, is joy– the exhilaration of experience itself, of physical well-being; sheer satisfaction of muscle and sense, of palate and ear and eye. Even if life had no meaning except for its moments of beauty, that would be
enough.”

-Will Durant

Life is a picked up toy without any playing instructions on it.

People like Maxwell ,Einstein and Smolin (part natural philosopher, part theoretical physicist ) can’t help speculating on the fundamental meanings of space, time, reality or existence. Our physical existence might just be a part of some still unknown abstract logic(HUP?). So we are part of a mystery. But our souls shiver to call it a mystery. So we name its parts as existence, nature, universe, galaxy, star, planet, earth, stone ,life ,death, food or man or pan or fan.Everything known to us obeys the same mathematical order that allows the emergence of life( palatable information processing) with a physical universe as the context and Darwinian contingencies as tools. But our species is still AS UNINSURED AS DINOSAURS.If we want to survive the demise of the Sun (in 3.5 billion years from now, the Sun will be so hot that the oceans will boil and water vapor will be lost to space)or of the Universe, each of us must somehow be dedicated to science while enjoying this existence/life/dream/romance/planetary picnic-party.As soon as we discover our species playing a contingent fleeting role on the stage of mathematical eternity , our mission becomes to eternize humanity with the help of science. Science is the last rush to escape extinction. Let’s accelerate it by spreading scientific memes or worldviews. Science is life’s ambrosia . “LET IT FLOW”.

“THERE ARE ONLY TWO WAYS TO LIVE YOUR LIFE. ONE IS AS THOUGH NOTHING IS A MIRACLE. THE OTHER IS AS THOUGH EVERYTHING IS A MIRACLE.” – ALBERT
EINSTEIN

“BELIEVING AS I DO THAT MAN IN THE
DISTANT FUTURE WILL BE A FAR MORE PERFECT CREATURE THAN HE NOW IS, IT IS AN INTOLERABLE THOUGHT THAT HE AND ALL OTHER SENTIENT BEINGS ARE
DOOMED TO COMPLETE ANNIHILATION AFTER SUCH LONG-CONTINUED SLOW
PROGRESS. WHAT CAN WE DO? WHAT IF WE CHALLENGE THE ASSUMPTION OF INTELLIGENCE HAVING NO INFLUENCE ON THE FUTURE? WHAT IF LIFE AND INTELLIGENCE COULD HAVE INFLUENCE ON THE FUTURE OF THE COSMOS?” -DARWIN’S REACTION TO THE HEAT DEATH OF THE UNIVERSE.
