Humility is the opposite of humiliation.

Humility empowers us while humiliation leaves us powerless.

There is no polarity between culture and nature. Culture is actually nature tended and cultivated by one of nature’s products called man.

Language isn’t an artificial  layer over reality but the natural mechanism utlized by evolution to confer reality upon our very existence.

An unspoken experience is actually non-existent.

We tell ourselves ‘memetic’ stories  to experience life itself.

We shouldn’t base our self-worth on our professional achievements  often determined by contingent  factors (genetic or circumstantial).

Only man has deep sense of continuity and otherness. Man is not an individual but a  collective memory. It was born some 70,000 years ago with the birth of cognition and language. Our species were then leaving Africa and separating themselves from other animals.

Man is a rope (a  collective memory) woven from many tiny strands. Our duty is to safeguard the rope from cosmic indifference and vulnerability.

Only man has  collective memory to  change the future.

Only man has  collective memory to  determine his own destiny.

Only man has deep sense of continuity. We shouldn’t gain immediate pleasures at the cost of this continuity!

Only existential threats expose us for what we truly are! We are merely  existing entities! We are fundamentally vulnerable!

According to Iris Murdoch, humility is the selfless respect for reality.

Humility is our fundamental adjustment to reality! Belief in something uncontrollable sublime, be it  God or HUP, helps us ‘real’istically adjust to reality by placing us on firm (paradoxically synonymous with uncertain!)  ground.

Existential threats inculcate humility. Such humility is an insertion into the world, as a way of life. Such humility helps us regain the vision of a sublime reality separate from ourselves.

Humility is an acknowledgment of our cosmic insignificance.

Our instinctive plus memetic sense of  self-importance (an evolutionarily evolved algorithmic plugin) usually keeps us hidden from ourselves. Humility brings us back to our naked condition.
